Our clients do some incredible work, and it’s no secret that here at the Pod we’re inspired by and proud to work with them.
So, it was no surprise to us when we saw the outpouring of support for those affected by the events in Ukraine after the shocking Russian invasion began in late February.
From raising money to help families fleeing the conflict, to supporting relief efforts and employees affected by the crisis, we wanted to spotlight some of our clients’ efforts.
Pentalog
With offices based in bordering countries Moldova, Romania and Poland, the amazing team at Pentalog is supporting relief efforts from the front line.
In response to the conflict, Pentalog set up “a security, solidarity and business continuity plan to protect and support our teams, our clients and the communities at risk”. The plan is made up of three parts: safety for its employees, business continuity for its clients and relief efforts for Ukraine.
Pentalog immediately assembled a crisis unit to analyse the impact and make sure its employees felt safe. This included setting up a temporary relocation programme for its Moldova-based employees and their families to Romania. Its business continuity plan includes measures designed to mitigate risks and limit impact on production, in best- and worst-case scenarios.
Additionally, the software development services company has also committed an initial donation of €10,000 to split between the Red Cross and Save the Children, supporting border efforts to welcome refugees fleeing to Romania. The funds will provide food, water and hygiene needs, and more. Pentalog has also joined with French non-profit organisation SOS Attitude to help refugees find food and shelter at the Moldovan border.
The company has also set up a fund its employees can donate to from anywhere in the world.

Social Value Portal
We’re in awe of the effort of our friends at Social Value Portal. Over a two week period, employees have been walking a collective 1,505 miles – representing the distance from their London offices to the centre of Kyiv.
SVP has set a target of raising £5,000 for the Disaster Emergency Committee’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal – and what’s more, the company will match every pound donated, so is hoping to send a total of £10,000 to help.

Mobica
Our friends at Mobica also have offices in neighbouring Poland, and have responded to the conflict by sending out an open invitation to all software engineers in Ukraine and offering a full relocation package
Mobica, which provides businesses with software engineering and development capabilities through Talent-as-a-Service (TaaS), has encouraged engineers and developers in Ukraine to send their CVs to the company. It’s promised to fast-track all applications from the country and help them relocate to Poland.
In an open message to Ukrainians, the company said: “We have a culture of empathy and understanding for each other. A culture of diversity and inclusion that makes us stronger as teams and more accomplished as individuals. A culture of being brave to think outside the box and dream high.”
Earlier in March, to coincide with International Women’s Day, Mobicans came together to prepare packages containing much-needed personal daily products, as well as power banks, for Ukrainian women affected by the conflict. Joining with MAMADA charity, Mobica said women were arriving in Poland “physically and emotionally shattered, with almost nothing”, and also wanted to stay connected and reach loved ones.
