We're celebrating a significant milestone this week, having grown exponentially from two founders round a kitchen table to a million-pound turnover in just five years. The team is toasting its busiest year yet with a long list of clients and 12 industry awards under their belt, including the much-coveted title Small Consultancy of the Year 2018 at the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) Dare awards, 2018.

Jenny Hughes and Jodie Williams left senior positions in corporate companies to set up the agency in September 2013, positioning it as a fully integrated agency ahead of the now growing trend for marketing agencies to diversify services. With no start-up funding or external investment, and the agency has grown year-on-year thanks to results and reputation.

The Marketing Pod specialises in marketing solutions for technology, utilities and financial services, priding itself in making the complex simple and finding new, creative ways to achieve cut through and create campaigns that resonate in the crowded world of B2B marketing.

As a full-service agency, we work with businesses across the country to offer integrated marketing support encompassing consultancy, campaign, PR, content and design services. The team have won 10 awards from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations for client campaigns, along with commendations and recognition in national and regional marketing awards.

A bigger HQ and an exciting new brand

It's been an exciting time for the Pod team. We've recently extended our premises to house a growing team of eight marketing experts and add extra space for a design studio and a space to host client workshops. We're incredibly proud of what we've achieved over the past five years and of the different areas of expertise across our team. So, to showcase our in-house design talent, we've launched a new brand identity as part of our birthday celebrations.

Jenny Hughes, our co-founder and director, believes that our ethos is the key to Pod's success: “At the core of The Marketing Pod is our ethos of maximising value through integration and achieving an in-depth understanding of our client’s business so we become part of their team. Our services have evolved to stay ahead of industry trends, from bolstering our strategic consultancy division and proposition build capability to developing new Account Based Marketing processes to help clients develop highly targeted and personalised activity to get cut-through.”

Jodie Williams, also a co-founder and director, thinks an ambitious approach has helped the Pod to thrive: “We set up The Marketing Pod in 2013 because we knew we could offer businesses something different: access to expertise across all marketing disciplines under one roof. We’ve been ambitious from day one, pitching for large business and recruiting experienced professionals to bolster our offering rather than building a junior team. The hard work has paid off and we’re delighted to be an award-winning agency on track to our first million-pound annual turnover in just five short years.”

The Pod story has been an incredible one so far - and our wonderful clients have helped us get where we are today. You can see some our projects on our What we do page.
