It’s almost a shame we need a day to recognise women in general but hey, I’ll take it – it’s a perfect opportunity to give some recognition to just a few of the awesome women I know and that I am privileged to work with every single day.
Jodie and I took the decision to start up on our own in marketing after many years working in-house for corporates. That was almost four years ago. The time has absolutely flown by and, whilst it hasn’t always been easy, there are times when I am amazed by how far we have come with this business, which is unrecognisable from the one we started at a kitchen table.
And what’s behind that? A group of awesome women! That fact makes us immensely proud - and as one of the themes for today is “recognising women’s achievement”, it feels like an opportunity for a rare moment of reflection…
As my business partner and ‘work wife’, Jodie is not only one of the best women in business I have ever encountered, she’s also my best friend. I am blessed to have her. We have put every ounce of ourselves into the Pod and framed this business around the values we hold the closest: family first, hard work, creativity, commitment and of course, delivering results.
It is these values that have enabled us to grow our team with the addition of our other, awesome women: Ellie, Amy, Emma, Kerrie and Zoe – all incredibly different and all incredibly talented. We are privileged to call them Podsters; each one of them is juggling life in general whilst being successful business women and giving it their all. They’re absolutely nailing it.
So thank you, International Women’s Day for giving me a platform to recognise just some of the achievements of our amazing team.
And when it’s International Men’s day, we will all be dancing around our designer David obviously ;)
