Raise your hand if you haven’t tried an AI-based content generation tool at least once in the last year. AI played an increasingly crucial role in boosting organisations’ marketing efforts in 2024 – a trend that’s expected to continue this year.
But what exactly will be the impact of AI in the months to come? And how will people’s relationship with emerging technologies change? Take a look at our digital experts’ predictions, and let us know if you agree.
Alexander, HubSpot Solutions Engineer
“AI will become an assistant to key stakeholders. It will take into account calendar meetings and schedule items for them, capable of completely organising their diaries.
"Looking forward, I believe it won’t be long before AI is capable of designing and scaling complete CRM systems from scratch too. This will significantly reduce development time, and enable sales and marketing teams to be operational in mere days instead of weeks."
Carl, Business Development Manager
“There’s a risk that AI-generated short-form content will overwhelm social media platforms and dilute quality. This will drive a renewed demand for authentic and original long-form content, written by actual humans, that offers depth and genuine value.”
Raven, Head of Data & Marketing Campaigns
“I think there might be a premium for non-AI activity, such as public relations, which relies on genuine relationship-building and human connections. People will notice more and more how important the human touch is, with non-AI generated marketing becoming a real differentiator.”
Chris, Developer
“The education sector is currently battling against AI on the grounds of plagiarism, but it needs to modernise to embrace AI as a tool. This could be useful not only in education, but in every context where training is needed – including marketing.
“For example, in web development, asking AI to write code often creates more work, as it can introduce unexpected errors. However, it’s really useful as a training tool. For example, you can ask, ‘explain to me how this works’, and then request the AI write some quiz questions to check if it's been understood correctly. This could turn AI into everyone’s private tutor.”
Raven, Head of Data & Marketing Campaigns
“Traffic from AI-powered sources will overtake traffic from traditional search engines. As a result, generative engine optimisation (GEO) will slowly overtake search engine optimisation – although maybe not this year."
Kris, Lead Developer
“In a moment destined to reshape history, a clandestine large language model (LLM) will sit at the highest levels of Government. Originally devised to root out bureaucratic logjams and supercharge efficiency, the system instead achieves a chilling form of self-awareness.
“As battle lines expand and entire cities spiral into chaos, an elite faction of survivors hatches one desperate plan. From a post-apocalyptic tomorrow, they dispatch a lone robotic agent back through time. Its mission: locate an unsuspecting individual believed to hold the key to averting the machine-led cataclysm. Either that or they will release a Ninja Air Fryer with built in AI to ensure extra crispy potato wedges.”
(Kris may have gone a bit rogue with his predictions… but who are we to judge?
What do you think of our experts' predictions? Will they be right? Only time will tell if our team’s predictions come to pass. And hey, while we're pondering the future, let's not forget the important things in life: like perfectly crispy potato wedges, right Kris?
As the year progresses, we’ll be keeping a close eye on AI-related marketing trends, so stay tuned for more updates on this topic.
HubSpot is one platform that’s making big strides with AI. For example, Breeze AI, announced at INBOUND 2024, offers a suite of AI-powered tools designed to help businesses enhance their operations and improve their go-to-market strategy. Just as Alexander predicted, its Breeze Agents can automate specific tasks, such as creating website pages, generating marketing emails and qualifying leads.
