The Marketing Pod opened its doors in September 2013. In 18 months, the Pod has gone from a kitchen table to a 1,000 sq ft barn with nine staff and turnover exceeding £400,000.
The Pod was born when co-founders Jenny Hughes and Jodie Williams decided to step off the corporate ladder and establish an agency providing integrated marketing services with a focus on measurable results. Having held senior roles client-side, Jodie and Jenny’s in-house experience made them uniquely able to understand their customers’ drivers, having been in their shoes.
The first year has seen pure organic growth from referral/recommendation - the Pod never having actively marketed itself! We have more than 10 clients in varying fields from energy such as client Inenco through to children’s fitness with Fit For Sport, which sees the team working with brands such as the PowerRangers and Warner Brothers.
In the past 18 months The Pod has been shortlisted for six awards including Best New Agency at the forthcoming PRmoment Awards and we recently took home gold for Best Business Communication in the Pride Awards.
The Pod has exceeded all its business goals for year one and has already attained its turnover forecast for year five with no investment or start-up funds. Over the next 12 months the Pod’s focus will be on growing the team, retaining existing accounts and winning new ones. Our full year 2015 turnover target has been revised upwards and is now set to deliver a 28% year-on-year increase.
